Frequently asked questions

The duration of a building survey depends heavily on the size and complexity of the property:

  • A single-family house with up to 5 floors can easily be fully surveyed in a single working day.

  • An apartment building with 6 floors and 4 apartments on each floor takes about 1 to 2 working days.

  • For large properties such as industrial plants, schools or office complexes, we use up to four surveyors and four laser scanners simultaneously. This means that even very large buildings can be precisely surveyed in a short time.

Yes, the 3D building survey can also only cover a partial area. Whether it's just the top floor, the façade or individual zones - we measure exactly the areas you need.

The processing time depends on the size of the building, the desired level of detail, the 2D or 3D design and our current workload.

We only communicate deadlines that we can reliably meet. As soon as the project becomes concrete, you will receive an exact deadline from us. This is fixed when the order is placed - and is guaranteed to be met.

We supply the plans and models created from the 3D laser scan data in all common CAD formats - precisely tailored to your planning software:

2D plans:

  • DWG
  • DXF
  • PDF (for layout and print views)

3D models:

  • ArchiCAD (.pln)
  • Revit (.rvt)
  • Vectorworks (.vwx)
  • Allplan (.ndw)
  • IFC (for open BIM applications)

Our data can be processed immediately - without conversion or additional post-processing. You also receive free access to the 360° point cloud viewer.

In 3D laser scanning, a building or room is measured contactlessly and with high precision. The laser scanner emits thousands of laser beams that scan surfaces. By measuring the time of flight of the reflected light, the scanner calculates exact distances to millions of points in the room.

The result is what is known as a point cloud - a dense, three-dimensional record of the existing building. Each point in this point cloud has an exact X, Y and Z coordinate. This creates a complete 360° image of the building, which serves as the basis for 3D models and plans.

A building survey is always useful when precise and up-to-date planning data is required - for example for conversions, renovations, extensions or when documenting existing buildings.

It is particularly recommended:

  • before planning conversions or new builds
  • for missing or outdated plans
  • for complex or listed buildings
  • for planning applications, 3D models or digital twins

No, there is no fixed minimum size or minimum budget. We survey both small and large buildings.

The minimum costs depend on the effort involved - e.g. the journey, the duration of the survey and the desired scope of the plan. We also offer precise laser scans and CAD evaluations for smaller projects at fair conditions.

Furniture and fittings do not have to be removed for the laser scan. Almost all of our projects take place in inhabited buildings, running office operations or active industrial plants. The survey is carried out discreetly and without any noticeable disruption to everyday life or operations.

Only very large objects that completely conceal load-bearing components should - if possible - be moved for a short time. But even this is rarely necessary.

You receive both - the model and, on request, the raw data. As standard, we deliver the finished 3D model and/or 2D plans in the desired CAD formats. You also receive free access to the 360° point cloud viewer. If required, we can also provide you with the original point cloud.
